Buttermilk Cake
3 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 butter or margarine
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon soda
Salt
Mix vanilla and egg together well. Add the buttermilk and
the soda and then add the dry ingredients, stirring well. Put in the refrigerator
overnight. Cut the dough into long strips and then roll them into a
figure eight shape. Put back in the refrigerator until they have risen a bit more.
